At Busy Brain, our approach is first and foremost collaborative — we believe the best creative outcomes are never built alone. Our process is driven by curiosity; we’re highly engaged in every project, which allows us to create solutions that are thoughtful, strategic, and visually beautiful. Our favourite part of any project is exploring creative possibilities with our clients, connecting the dots they didn’t even know were there, and shaping them into a cohesive identity or brand experience. The way we work is structured enough to move projects forward with clarity, while leaving room for discovery, maximum creativity, and the unexpected moments of insight that often lead to the strongest work.

Creative Director, Designer & The OG Busy Brain
Steph leads all things creative with a her natural ability to turn big ideas into brands that feel alive in the world. She cares deeply about relationship building and leads with a collaborative approach in any project. Her sharp creative instincts, and knack for connecting the dots, brings brand’s stories to life, not just through asset creation but world building.
After spending five years working in marketing and creative roles within the hospitality industry, she developed a deep appreciation for balancing corporate strategy with strong brand thinking and storytelling — often through an experiential lens. For the past six years, she’s collaborated with ambitious founders and teams to shape their ideas into thoughtful brands and experiences.
When she’s not working with clients, she’s hosting dinner parties, starting another DIY project, doing yoga, or in the ocean. (Oh — or at a local thrift store near you hunting for treasures.)
KALE
Managing Director & Executive Chef
Kale leads the studio as Managing Director, shaping its direction and ensuring the foundations are in place for great work to happen. He focuses on cultivating strong client partnerships and building a studio where creative collaboration can thrive.
After more than a decade in technology sales and consulting, Kale brings a deep understanding of how successful projects take shape. Over that time he has worked with organisations of all sizes, guiding initiatives ranging from regional rollouts through to large multinational programs.
Outside the studio you’ll usually find Kale in motion
— surfing the beaches of Northern NSW, ruining a perfectly good walk by carrying a set of golf clubs, or impressing his 35 Strava followers with his latest long run.
